Brynn at 18 months

This is my favorite age!  If I could freeze time right now I would.  Brynn is picking up words at warp speed and her vocabulary is growing by the day.  She's also putting two words together now and tells me when she has pottied in her diaper.  Her personality is really coming out and she has totally taken on the stereotypical little sister role.  Ava will be playing with something and Brynn will run up all stealth like, snatch something and run for her life with a huge grin on her face.  She gets the biggest kick out of it too! Ava chases after her screaming and yelling and Brynn just runs faster and laughs harder.  It's hilarious to watch.

She can name all of her body parts, some colors and some alphabet letters.  She's already wearing a 2T and the same size shoe that Ava wore at 2 years old.  She looks so much like me when I was little it's almost weird sometimes.  She loves her sister so much and lights up when Ava walks into the room.  It's really cute in the  mornings because Brynn is always up first and when she see's Ava coming down the stairs she lights up, screams her name and runs to her to give her a big hug.

Things Brynn loves at 18 months:
  • putting on makeup
  • "curling" her hair
  • shoes
  • buckling and fastening things
  • Baby Bell (Tinkerbell)  all figures with a blonde bun are baby bell, so cinderella is actually baby bell.
  • baby dolls and feeding them
  • bath time
  • raisins, almost all fruits, yogurt, gummies, applesauce...okay just about all food
  • her binky
  • her blankie
  • slides- she climbs and slides all by herself
  • putting lids on things
  • climbing in the car and getting into Ava's car seat
  • pinching people
  • telling everyone "no no no" while pointing her finger
  • Coloring- and she can hold a pen and crayon like an adult
  • coloring on my cabinets with my makeup
  • sneaking markers into her bed- she's got prison tactics according to Steve
  • wagon rides- she will trample other kids to get the wagon at school
  • Sesame Street, Daniel Tigers Neighborhood and Barney
Things Brynn doesn't like at 18 months:
  • diaper changes
  • hair washing
  • clothes that restrict her from finding her belly button
  • Jeans or any kind of restrictive pants
  • getting dressed
  • teeth brushing
  • being told "no"
  • Brynn's nap time artwork...she was also covered from head to toe in red ink

Halloween

We had another awesome Halloween with neighbors.  Ava was a Lalaloopsy and Brynn was a ladybug.

Sick bomb Round 2

Well Brynn survived her tummy virus and now Ava has it.  My poor babies!  I stayed home with Ava today, she hasn't been feeling well since Saturday evening and this morning it just went downhill for her.  She didn't even want to get out of bed and started throwing up this morning.  Then the school called and said Brynny had a fever so I loaded Ava up with her sick bucket and off we went to get Brynn from school.  Tonight everyone seems to be feeling much better though, so hopefully we'll be back to normal tomorrow.

As for me, my MRI came back clear except for one gallstone.  Thank Goodness!  Hard to believe just one gallstone is causing that kind of pain.  I haven't been having trouble with it very often though so surgery isn't necessary until it starts becoming a regular problem.  What a relief that everything else looked good.  I didn't enjoy being in that tube for an hour, but it was worth the piece of mind.

Thanks to everyone who checked in on me...

Tummy bug

My poor Brynn has her first tummy bug. She threw up at school and on the way home. Poor baby. She is sleeping soundly now and I am praying that she sleeps through the night and that nobody else gets sick!

Baby boos

Today at school Brynn's teacher told me that her son, who is in Ava's class, wants Ava to be his girlfriend. He told his mom "I like the girl with the white hair, Ava. She's pretty. Maybe she can be my girlfriend". Then Ava told us tonight that he kissed her and told her he loved her. She said it was "a real kiss" on her cheek. Of course Daddy is not too thrilled that this has already started.

Brynny boo was a cutie today too. She went to her cubby at school, got a diaper and brought it to her teacher while saying "diaper ewwww". Then she did the sign for more, please and thank you, handed her the diaper and walked over to the changing table. Then she said "I pee pee".

Brynn can also point out letters of the alphabet in books. Lil smarty pants!

Oh we also had her 18 month check up. I will post her stats later :)

My lil Artist

Ava is such a little artist. We make about 2 trips per week to hobby lobby to get things to do "projects" and she is constantly making pictures and doing art for us. It's quite cute actually because all of the pictures are of me, Steve her and Brynn and everyone is always happy and smiling. Sometimes she adds a few others and when I ask who they are it's grandmother and grandad or Gigi and Papi. Every day when I pick her up from school, she is sitting at the table coloring or making a picture. I'm beginning to wonder if she's going to be a creative artsy type?

Apparently some of us have huge ears....and we all have curly hair

Brynn is picking up words at warp speed.  We have been watching Elmo's alphabet jungle and she is starting to learn her letters.  We were shocked one day when the letter B showed up on the screen and she yelled "B"  She has quite the sassy attitude and when she doesn't get what she wants she throws herself down on the floor.  It's hilarious.  Ava just loves to correct her and teach her how to behave; although Ava has a few things she could learn herself.

As for me I had my MRI last week finally and I was in that tube for an entire hour.  I did okay though, didn't panic.  No results yet, but no news is good news.

If there is a mess to be made or something for Brynn to climb she is going to find it.  She's also been quite good at finding any and every ant bed that pops up in the back yard.

why sit in the chair when you can climb up on the table?

She found a k-cup and made this mess in the blink of an eye
