She'll rat you out!

Now that Ava can communicate so much better, it's amazing to hear the stuff that comes out of her mouth and to see how much she actually understands.

Steve picked her up from school today and the teacher said "Ava got a little scratch on her face today" and Ava immediately pointed to a little boy named Asher and said "Asher, Asher!" and the teacher said yep, that's who did it. She totally ratted him out, it was hilarious!

Then this morning Biscuit snuck into our bedroom (the dogs are no longer allowed in the bedrooms) and crawled under the covers. I didn't notice and was in the bathroom getting ready. Ava came in the bathroom with me and said "Beeka night night, bead" I said "yeah Biscuit is night night in her bed, and Ava said "mommy, beeka night night, bead" and pointed to our bed. So I went to check and sure enough there was biscuit hiding under the covers!

Over the weekend we noticed a red spot on her face and I said "Ava what happened to your face" and she put her hand up to her face and said "Magna, Magna"

Sometimes when she tries to give Biscuit a treat, biscuit gets over excited and bites her fingers while snatching her food. Now Ava runs up to me and says "mommy, beeka bite" while holding her hand and pointing at biscuit.

So everyone beware..Ava will rat you out, so watch yourself! haha.

Ava's 1st Rodeo

My mom (Meme) and I took doodlebug to her first rodeo on Friday. She ran us both ragged, especially my mom who was really sore from moving furniture earlier in the week. The weather was beautiful and I love having my girlie days with my little sweetie. The only rough part was when it was about an hour past Ava’s naptime, the sun was beating down and we couldn’t find our car! Talk about testing the patience..geez.

Chatty Cathy

Ava can now string 2-3 words together and we are so impressed. It’s amazing how one day she can all of the sudden say like 10 new words!
She now says:
Meme jacket (meme left her jacket at our house and Ava noticed it was still there)
House shoes
Super why (one of her favorite tv shows) but most of the time she calls it B-why
Teeth (she pointed to my toothbrush and said “Mama Teeth”)
Socks are hocks
Shoes are now foos
Milk Cup
Water
Banana is now nana instead of baba
Bread
Bed and Mama, Dada, or Magna Bed
Dada or Mama night night
Outside and go outside
Door and close door
Walk
Git up
BeBe night night (Baby)
Monkeys are still Mommies
Raspberries “Rappies”
She can also say several of her classmate’s names and when we get to school she starts yelling them before I can even get her out of her seat.
She came back from her grandparent’s house saying “Sassy barked at the squirrel” in her words “Assy bar curl”
I love getting in the car and putting her music on now because when certain songs come on I’ll hear her back there singing them. She loves “daddy wouldn’t buy me a bow wow” and I hear her back there saying “dada…bowwow, dada bowwow” It’s the cutest! She also likes Old McDonald and moo’s when it comes on and H-A-P-P-Y where she just says P-Y throughout the song.
She has started telling us when she is about to go potty in her diaper and then when it’s dirty she points to her diaper and says “Die Die”. So we think we may start a little potty training soon. On the weekends when Steve is home she doesn’t like for him to sleep in so as soon as she sees him she starts shoving him or gets out of bed and starts pulling his hand saying “dada up, dada up”
Last week she decided she no longer likes to wear shirts. I try and put her shirt on and she says no and pulls it off. This morning getting her dressed for school was a small miracle. We are in the full fledged tantrum stage and when she doesn’t get her way she is (like my friend Rhonda calls her little girl Kate), “a tiny terror” Usually she gets like this when she wants to go outside or doesn’t want to go to bed, and apparently now when her mean and hateful mommy tries to do an absurd thing like make her wear clothes to school. I told her “Ava you can’t go to school naked, you have to wear clothes.” Haha!
She is also slightly obsessed with the following:
Crackers
Putting her baby, magnum and casper to night night
Playing outside
Dressing and undressing her baby

Happy Spring!

She actually thought this was a hard surface and that she could sit on it. She was very surprised when she fell in.

She also thought she could sit on this bush, again surprised when she fell on the ground.

We're Moving!

We officially sealed the deal on our house today. The option period was up and we were able to come to an agreement with the buyers on repairs. I just leased our 3 bedroom apartment (can you believe a short term lease on a 3 bed was cheaper than a 2 bed? Lucky us!) and just reserved our POD to start packing!

In other news, Steve found out that his Prize winning Mule Deer (won 1st place in the State of Colorado) will be featured in 3 hunting magazines! He is pretty excited about it. We were told by the outfitter that Muley Madness (only a hunter would appreciate this magazine I'm sure) is all over it!

Now...where to live, where to live. The reality really sunk in today..we are about to be suburbanites, very scary for us. I'm also sad about having to move Ava to another school. It breaks my heart.
