Hunting with Daddy-video

From 18 Months

Ava is 19 months old Today!

Doodle had go Texan Day at school today and so we took her for a little while so she could show off her cute outfit. Only the girls in the class dressed up. What is wrong with parents?? Why would they not take advantage of every opportunity to do these fun things with their kids and dress them in cute little cowboy outfits? Come on now people!! The teachers loved it so much they got out their personal camera's and took pictures of all the girls and had them developed and blown up for us. It was so sweet!

Well we sold our house and now we are in the option period. The buyers did their inspections on Monday and now we are just waiting on them to get back to us with repairs. So far the only concern I've heard about was a pipe issue near the kitchen and something with the darn chimney again. I'm hoping they don't slam us on Monday with a butt load of expensive repairs they want us to make. I'm getting a little nervous that we haven't heard back yet and worried they may opt out of the contract. Steve is feeling optimistic...fingers crossed, prayers said!

So today we went out and looked at some existing homes and some models and are having a hard time deciding what we want (of course!). I really like the 2 story homes with the kids rooms and a gameroom upstairs, but we saw a one story that was really cool with all bedrooms downstairs and a game room upstairs. tough decisions!

One of Ava's favorite things to do is to go "doo-doo" hunting in the backyard with Steve. We have a pooper scooper that we scoop up the doggy droppings with and Ava thinks it's the best thing ever. She runs around the yard pointing out piles and yelling "doo-doo!" and then she says "eeeew!" It is hilarious! Video to follow...

Valentine's Day and more

Happy Girl..Valentines Day
Singing Itsy Bitsy Spider...not sure where that silly face came from!

We are just having so much fun with our little doodlebug these days. Her most favorite thing to do is put Casper to night night. She does it all day long and she's very particular about how it's done. The blanket must be perfectly smoothed out and must be leapord side down and silky side up. Last night I picked up her lovey off of Casper to bring it to bed with her and she got upset and cried "apper night night!" So I put the lovey back on Casper but it was leopard print up instead of silky side up, this really bothered her and she pulled back saying "no no" until I fixed the blanket. She clearly watches me fold the sheets and shake them out because as you can see in the video below, she must do that with her blanket too. This morning I had a hard to time pulling her away from putting "apper night night" to get her dressed for school. When Casper isn't available she likes to use her glow worm, elmo or her baby..whatever is available.

She now tells mommy and daddy to "sheet" when she wants us to come sit by her and tells the dogs to "git down" when they are jumping or being obnoxious. She demands her milk"meelk" first thing every morning and loves feeding herself like a big girl.

We took her and the dogs to the dog park on Sunday and enjoyed the awesome weather. Ava did NOT like it when Magnum ran off to play with the other dogs. She would cry and yell "manna, manna" like he was being hurt or running away for good. She also doesn't like Casper to be out in the front yard and will cry for him until we bring him back into the house.

At night time we have our routine and she loves bath time. We go over her letters (thanks auntie Sara for the foam letters) and then she says "oww, oww" for "out" when she's ready to get out of the tub. We get dressed, brush teeth, read a story and kiss daddy night night. Then we go in her room and cuddle in the glider for a little bit while she winds down. When she's ready to get in her bed she points to her bed and grunts and then I put her in her bed and off to sleep she goes.

This week at school Ava's teacher told me that "Ava and David are best friends" Ava just loves David. When we got to school and she saw him she squealed and ran over to him giggling and then stopped in front of him with a big smile on her face like "look David I'm here!" It was the cutest. She LOVES going over her class picture and pointing out all of the kids. So far the only name she can say herself is "Gil" and she says it over and over again. We crack up.

As for us...the first buyers on our house had financing issues so we didn't sign the contract. We now have another buyer that we are negotiating with. We are almost to the contract phase and ready for this to all be over. I wish we just knew where we wanted to live!
