She is her mother's daughter!

She may look just like her daddy, but she is totally her mother's daughter. She went in my closet this morning, pulled out these shoes and said "eeya shoes on" then put her little feet into them. She was so proud of herself too! She even walked around the apartment in them and said "cheese" when I pulled out the camera.

20 months & 3 weeks

Ava’s new words that just crack me up:

Courtney- CoCo
Color (Crayon)- Coaker  (I broke one of her crayons on accident and now she tells us “mommy bro coaker” or she’ll pick up one Magnum chewed up and say “Magna chee up coaker”)  Let me tell you…this child “coakers” on everything in the house.  Her pottery barn chair that we got her for her birthday is toast.  She got a hold of a ball point pen and went to town on it.  I hope I can get it clean!
Mail Man-  Me Meal
Mickey Mouse- Me Mow
Juice – Joo
Diaper- die die
Tail – tee-ul  (belts are also tails so she picks up Steve’s belt and says “dada tee-ul”)
Necklace- neena

The other day she found her swing in the closet and ever since has been telling me that daddy broke her swing.  She is so upset  that she can’t swing in it and tells me about it all the time, she says “dada bro fwing!”  So now anytime something is broken, dada did it, and anytime she gets hurt, Asher did it.  Poor little Asher, he gets blamed for her boo boo’s even if he isn’t around to cause them.    I’m amazed daily at how much she remembers and all of the new words that she can say.  It’s amazing that a month ago she could only say 1 word at a time and now she can put sentences together.  She’s growing up so fast!

Ava has been showing signs for a quite a while now that she might be ready to start potty training so I went ahead and ordered her very own potty from Amazon.  Who knew there were so many potty’s on the market to choose from!  It was almost overwhelming!  I also ordered Elmo’s potty time DVD and a book called “Big girls use the potty”  I ask her if she’s ready to learn to go on the potty and she says “no!”

As for us the house hunting continues. Our Realtor is probably ready to jump off a bridge, as he is a total inner looper and we have dragged him to every outer corner of the city trying to find a house.  We actually put an offer in last week, but thank goodness they countered because we changed our minds!  We have changed our mind on area’s 3 times and are now back to our original location we had planned on.  Steve put our notice in at the apartment so we have exactly 2 weeks to find a house and get it under contract!  Apartment living has been fun but we are ready to be homeowners again.  I just hope we can find something that we just love and don’t end up settling now that we are under a time crunch to make a decision.

We also received GREAT news this morning.  Steve went in for his semi-annual check-up with the dermatologist and they did not find anything that looked suspicious, so he is still melanoma free!  Now we can relax for another 6 months J

the sick bomb has hit us..

My poor sweet little Angel has been so sick with a nasty stomach virus.  This is the first time we’ve experienced this with her so it really had us freaked out.  She started vomiting on Thursday night and it was all night long.  Friday we thought she was better because she was running around playing all day like normal.  We decided to go ahead and look at some new houses with our realtor.  As we were driving poor thing vomited in her car seat.  I just knew the realtor was thinking “OMG get these people out of my car!”  We took her to the urgent care pediatrician and they said no Easter egg hunting for Ava L

Saturday she was just a limp noodle clinging to mommy and didn’t want to play or do anything but lay on the couch with her mommy.  Sunday and Monday she was what seemed like back to normal, eating and drinking again, no fever and playful. Then Monday night she woke up at Midnight after getting sick in her crib.  It just broke my heart because when I went to get her out of her crib, she pointed to where she was laying and tearfully said “eeya bed wet”   (She now calls herself Eeya).  I was so sad when I saw that she had gotten sick again while sleeping.  So we had another night and day filled with sickness.  I took her to the doctor yesterday and they said there is a really bad stomach virus going around and entire families are coming in with it.  They sent us home with a prescription to keep her nausea in check and so far today she’s been almost back to normal, but I’m not holding my breath, as it could just be the medicine keeping the nausea at bay.

During her sickness she has done a few really cute things though.  When she first got sick she was throwing up some shredded cheese that she had eaten earlier, so now every time she throws up she says “eeya cheese”  or points to it and says “cheese”

I’ve spent a lot of time sleeping with her on the couch and she’s grown to love it so last night when I said it was night night time she ran to the couch and said “chair” so I put her on there and she laid down with her butt in the air and pulled my hand and said “mommy night night” and patted the couch.  It was so cute!  I hated making her go sleep in her crib.

On Sunday when she was feeling a little better we took her out to Brenham to see Grandmother and Granddad and take pictures in the blue bonnets.  There were lots of cows out there and she would say “moo out there, moo out there”  She calls cows moo’s so she was announcing to us that there were cows out there.

She has also discovered her chest and that she has “boobs” so she points to her chest and says “eeya boo” with a big grin on her face.  When I put her shirt on her she says “bye bye boo” Ha-ha!

She'll rat you out!

Now that Ava can communicate so much better, it's amazing to hear the stuff that comes out of her mouth and to see how much she actually understands.

Steve picked her up from school today and the teacher said "Ava got a little scratch on her face today" and Ava immediately pointed to a little boy named Asher and said "Asher, Asher!" and the teacher said yep, that's who did it. She totally ratted him out, it was hilarious!

Then this morning Biscuit snuck into our bedroom (the dogs are no longer allowed in the bedrooms) and crawled under the covers. I didn't notice and was in the bathroom getting ready. Ava came in the bathroom with me and said "Beeka night night, bead" I said "yeah Biscuit is night night in her bed, and Ava said "mommy, beeka night night, bead" and pointed to our bed. So I went to check and sure enough there was biscuit hiding under the covers!

Over the weekend we noticed a red spot on her face and I said "Ava what happened to your face" and she put her hand up to her face and said "Magna, Magna"

Sometimes when she tries to give Biscuit a treat, biscuit gets over excited and bites her fingers while snatching her food. Now Ava runs up to me and says "mommy, beeka bite" while holding her hand and pointing at biscuit.

So everyone beware..Ava will rat you out, so watch yourself! haha.
