Brynn's 1st week Home

We got to come home Saturday afternoon after having to stay in the hospital a little longer than we wanted to.  Brynn is Jaundiced so she had to lay under the lights at the hospital for a night and then when we got home we had to get a bili blanket to wrap her in for 3 days.  We've made 3 trips to the pediatrician to check her levels this week.  Her poor little feet look like pin cushions :( The bilirubin levels are going down now and in the safe zone so we were able to discontinue the phototherapy.  Now I just feed her constantly and make sure she is pooping up a storm to get it all out.

Ava is over the moon about her baby sister.  She wants to hold her, push her in the swing, cover her up with blankets and make her "warm and cozy", help with diaper changes, and give her lots of kisses.  You can't leave her alone with the baby for a 2nd though because she doesn't understand that she can't be rough around the baby or pick her up.  She also wants to crawl into the pack n play or crib to lay down with her so you really have to watch her.  She tells us "mommy my baby's hungry, she wants your milk go get her"

On our 2nd night home, Ava got Gigi to get her out of her bed and let her come downstairs at about 4:30 a.m.  So it was Brynn, Me, Ava and Steve all laying in my bed and I thought to myself  "now this is happiness!"  and thanked God for the blessings he has bestowed upon us.  I mean really, does it get any better?  I think we need to look into a king size bed now :)

Brynn is a fabulous sleeper and eater!!  She nursed like a champ from the moment she was born.  As for sleeping, I have literally had to wake her up at night to eat.  At the hospital she only lost 1 oz and total she only lost 5 oz!  She is already back up to 9 lbs 3 oz and the doctor is very pleased.  Yay Brynn!  It took my sweet little Ava about 3 weeks to get back to her birth weight. 

Brynn is just a dream baby so far and we couldn't have asked for a sweeter easier baby.  She does great in the car so far.  Like her sister though she isn't a big fan of pacifiers but we are still trying to get her to take one.  She'll take it for a little bit in the car, but that's about it.  She also lays down for naps in her pack n play or the nap nanny without a fuss and loves the infant swing.  We are truly blessed and our family is now complete :)
