The Girls

The girls have totally warmed my heart over the last few weeks as they are finally playing together.  Today I asked Ava who her best friend was and she said Brynn.  I feel so happy and blessed that we were able to give her a baby sister to grow up with.

Brynny at 15 months

Brynn had her 15 month check up yesterday and had two shots.  Poor thing.

She's 25lbs and 31 3/4 inches long.  85% in weight, 80% in height and 97% in head circ.

Brynn can say so many words now!  Of course most of them are toddler speak, but we know what she's saying:

Ava
Emma
all done
more
don't
no
Christy
Barney
Elmo
Lizard
blackberries
bye bye
hot dog
applesauce
diaper
Magnum
Biscuit
Cheese
several of the kids from schools names

She loves waterplay
She can also put pants on, feed herself with a spoon and a fork, drink from a regular cup, climb anything and everything, comb her hair, put make up on, open and close doors etc..  She may not be able to say much yet but she understands EVERYTHING.
In the mornings when I'm getting ready she's always digging around in my make up drawer and in the mirror putting eye liner, powder and blush on.  It's so cute to watch!
She is also crazy for Barney
She's also suddenly decided that she likes her pacifier and requires it at all times now, especially during bedtime.  She is still a wonderful sleeper and goes to bed so easily.  She still loves cuddling her blanket.  If she has her blanket and her paci she is down for the count.  She is a total mommy's girl and wants me and only me most of the time.  She still has an aversion to strangers and people she doesn't know very well.

Lizard

Ava and her "pal" Lizard are never far apart.  Like I said before, it goes to school with her, sleeps with her, has it's own car seat and now has to eat at the table with us and have his own special food.  Tonight he even got a bath and had to be dried off with a special lizard size towel.

Lizard and Ava go night night

Tiny Dancer

Ava had her first dance recital on Saturday.  Let me tell ya, being a dance mom is hard work!  I especially loved it when I showed up to the pictures without one of her outfits, when I showed up to the rehearsal without her dance shoes, and then when Steve showed up to the recital with Brynn, no diapers, no milk and no snacks.  That's a daddy for ya.  LOL

Anyway thank you to everyone who made it out to see our little ballerina girl.  She was so excited you were all there!  Aunt Brenda drove in from San Antonio and Grandmother and Grandad came in from Brenham just to watch her dance. Oh and thank goodness for Aunt Courtney who brought the awesome camera and got some of these performance shots for us. The ballet routine was danced to Someday my prince will come, and the tap routine was to boogie fever.

Brynn was in the audience doing ballet arms, tapping her feet and dancing all around.  I think she may be the future dancer of the bunch.  We'll see!

Ava is a smart cookie

Tonight Ava had a friend over and they were talking about how old they were. Ava told her that she grew in her mommy's tummy and that Brynny grew in mommy's heart while Ava was in her tummy. She said "I poked a hole in my mommy's tummy and drove my car out and then Brynny drove her car out of mommy's heart down into mommy's tummy"

Today she told me that she loved Brynn even when she didn't want to share and even when she was grumpy and sleeping. She said "I always love Brynn, even when I'm in time out"

She also informed me that daddy's are big and mommies are little.

Ava at 3 years 10 months

Ava is almost 4 years old and I can't even imagine what my life was like without her.  She still says the funniest things and has the most spitfire personality.
last night I decided to hang out with her in her room and watch a movie before bed.  I laid there for a while and she finally turned over and said mommy when are you going to leave?  I said what do you mean "and she said I'm ready for you to leave, get daddy in here"  So Steve went in there and said "Ava why did you want mommy to leave"  she said "because she was wasting my time"  LOL
Then today I wanted to take Ava and have an Ava and Mommy morning of shopping at the disney store, going to hobby lobby and getting stuff to do projects, and then lunch.  Then Steve could spend time with Brynn while we were gone.  She told me "No mommy, I wanna stay home.  I only want to be with boys today.  Me and Daddy are going to stay here and go outside"

I guess she is officially in her oedipus stage...in love with her daddy.
I've also been finding food hidden all over the house.  Old banana's under the couch, in baskets, and a half eaten apple in the cabinet.  She tells us that she's eaten all of her food and then we find it hidden somewhere later.
The other night she told Steve: The moon isn't full, it must not have had much dinner.
This week she starts swim lessons with cousin Trent...I'm excited to see how she does.
